6 months at CREAF, Barcelona

This week I moved to Barcelona to work with Josep Espelta and Raul Bonal on different aspects of plant-animal interactions.

We plan to finish two projects. One is on the weevil infestation in red oaks that are invasive in Europe. We gathered a bunch of data that shows that red oaks escape predation which might accelerate invasion of that species across European forests.

The second one is on the effects of forest fragmentation on the effectiveness of predator satiation – one of the most often cited evolutionary cause of mast seeding. More soon!

I am off to see the artwork of Gaudi! 🙂
